Loud And Live Sells Wodapalooza to Ownership Group Led by Dylan Malitsky

Wodapalooza, host to one of the largest and longest running fitness competitions, is under new ownership. Loud And Live sold Wodapalooza to a group of investors earlier this month, just before the TYR Wodapalooza SoCal.

The new ownership group consists of individuals who have been part of the CrossFit community for more than 15 years and will be led by Dylan Malitsky, Loud & Live’s former VP of Sports. Malitsky, who was in charge of running Wodapalooza in recent years, is the Managing Director and Partner of the newly formed entity, WZA Sports.

“Wodapalooza has always been about more than competition. It’s about celebrating fitness, friendship and the community that brings us together,” said Malitsky. “Our team isn’t changing. We are simply gaining a new ownership group who love this sport as much as we do, which gives us the opportunity to keep elevating the experience while protecting what makes WZA so special. We’re grateful to Loud And Live for their years of support in bringing Wodapalooza to this point, and we’re now excited to see how far we can take it in the years ahead.”

In speaking with Malitsky, he told The Barbell Spin that the team who worked to bring Wodapalooza to life at Loud And Live will stay on board through the transition and are already working on the upcoming Wodapalooza Miami.

Malitsky added that the new ownership group is very passionate about CrossFit and has a deep connection to the sport, methodology and community. He said the new owners have actually competed at Wodapalooza Miami, train in CrossFit affiliated gyms and live the lifestyle.

And while WZA SoCal was the first event following the sale, there is little time to waste as the focus shifts to WZA Miami. The Online Challenge and Qualifier for WZA Miami starts October 8.

Those who qualify next via the online qualifier next month will compete at the 2026 Wodapalooza Miami on March 12-15, 2026 in Miami Beach, Florida.

Not only that, but last weekend CrossFit announced that the CrossFit Open 26.3 live announcement will be hosted at Wodapalooza Miami.

Wodapalooza was founded by Guido Trinidad in 2012 and has grown into the largest fitness competition in the world. Thousands of CrossFit athletes and fans have descended upon Miami annually to compete throughout the years.

In 2018, Loud And Live acquired Wodapalooza. Under Loud And Live, Wodapalooza grew over the past seven years…from launching the West Coast Classic, Madrid Championship and Wodapalooza SoCal to solidifying the move to Miami Beach from the historical venue of Bayfront Park.

Wodapalooza SoCal hosted the TYR Cup the past two years, a new team format that pitted the top athletes from North America against those from the rest of the World.
