Emma Tall injured her shoulder while warming up for Event 3, Tax Collector. Tall would withdraw from the competition before the event. An MRI has confirmed Tall fractured her AC joint and has a small tear at the supraspinatus tendon.
In a post on Instagram, Tall shared that the diagnosis has been tough on her. “I’ve been struggling a little extra because I can’t do much to make it heal faster and I’ve been feeling very hopeless, tired and out of control,” explained Tall.
Tall, who sat out the 2025 CrossFit Games season and focused on the new World Fitness Project season, said that she’s been looking forward to the WFP Finals this December as it was close enough for all of her family and friends to attend.
Now that is in jeopardy.
Tall has not lose all hope though. “I know it is not over yet and I will do what I can to stand on the start line in December,” shared Tall.
Whether Tall is able to compete will be highly dependent on the severity of the injury. Recovery can range from a few weeks for a minor sprain to several months if it is more severe.
Tall is currently in 7th place in season points and was poised to retain her Pro Card for the 2026 season. If Tall is unable to compete, she would drop outside the top 20.
Tall is not unfamiliar with shoulder injuries. She injured her shoulder last year, a week before the 2024 Rogue Invitational. Now, a year later, another shoulder injury.
Should Tall not be able to compete at the WFP Finals, Noortje Bleeker, 33rd in season points, would be next in line for a backfill invite.
