Alex Gazan has formally withdrawn from the TYR Cup. Gazan, who was slated to be on Team North America, has still yet to heal from her car accident back in June. Filling in for Gazan in Olivia Kerstetter.
Kerstetter is coming off a third place finish at the 2025 CrossFit Games and will round out the 8-athlete North American team at TYR Wodapalooza SoCal next weekend.
Kerstetter will be joined by Danielle Brandon, Alexis Raptis, Emma Lawson, Patrick Vellner, Jayson Hopper, Dallin Pepper and Justin Medeiros on Team North America.
As for Gazan, she continues to rehab her broken leg fibula stemming from a car accident days after qualifying for the 2025 CrossFit Games. Gazan later withdrew from the CrossFit Games and the World Fitness Project Tour Stop 2. While the TYR Cup is the latest competition Gazan has had to withdraw from, there is still a chance she is able to return to competition later this year at the Rogue Invitational.
The TYR Cup pits Team North America against Team World in a unique team-style competition at TYR Wodapalooza SoCal. Over the course of 11 events with varying team formats, the two teams will to capture the TYR Cup.
TYR Wodapalooza SoCal begins Friday, September 19.
