The start of the 2024 CrossFit Games season begins with the live announcement of the 24.1 CrossFit Open workout. It all starts on Thursday, February 29 at 2:15pm EST (11:15am PST) with the Live show [note: this has been updated as CrossFit moved the start back 15 minutes from what was originally published]. Then, 45 minutes later, at 3:00pm EST (12:00pm PST) Dave Castro will announce the first workout of the 2024 CrossFit Open.
The Open Live Announcement will be held at CrossFit Pleasanton in Pleasanton, California, just outside San Francisco. Following the workout details, 2023 CrossFit Games champion Jeff Adler, Brent Fikowski, Alex Gazan and Alexis Raptis will take on the workout during the live stream.

In addition to the four athletes taking on 24.1, they will also do two other non-Open workouts to win the Golden Barbell by Rogue Fitness.
