CrossFit Rock Solid affiliate member, Tara Metzler-Armento, is currently battling brain cancer. Tara is a beloved community member at the affiliate and in the Downingtown, PA area. Outside of CrossFit, Tara is also a long-standing coach at Metzlers Gymnastics, having helped develop young athletes for over 20 years.
Tara and her family received the diagnosis on May 4 and began treatment on June 26 at the University of Penn in Pennsylvania. Tara and her husband, Michael, have owned and operated CrossFit Rock Solid for 11 years.
The Armento family is known for using their outlets of fitness, such as Metzlers Gymnastics and CrossFit Rock Solid, to help others in need and support community members. Now, there is a call for the local and CrossFit community at large to come together and support Tara in her fight against cancer. A member of the community wrote:
