FitFest Pro Athlete Showcase Schedule & Workout Hints Released

Details around what the athletes will face at the FitFest Pro Athlete Showcase have been fairly limited. Outside of the team rosters and a high-level schedule, the format and structure had been unknown. But with less than two weeks until Team Brandon, Team Lawson and Team Wunger hit the competition floor, we now have some more information about what they will face.

But before we get into the schedule and event structures, let’s recap who is on each team:

Alright, now to some insights on the workouts…


Session 1 (7:30pm – 8:00pm local time)

(2:30pm – 3:00pm EST)

Teams will split into three mixed pairs where they will face a 25-minute endurance workout across a variety of ergs and runners. There were rumors that the Pro Showcase would take on the ATHX Pro workout. While that does not appear to be exactly correct, it seems like they may be taking on the Endurance Workout portion.

The ATHX Endurance Workout is the following:

Part A
5km run on curved treadmill (or max distance in 25 minutes)

Part B
1k SkiErg
2k Row
5k BikeErg

Each mixed pair team must complete each block simultaneously during the 25 minutes, splitting the work as they like. So while the male is running on the treadmill, the female is working through Part B. The athletes can switch at any time such that the female would start running while the male athlete would take on whichever erg the team is on.

Scoring has not been disclosed, but this is likely scored as two separate events.


Session 1 (11:30am – 2:00pm local time)

(6:30am – 9:00am EST)

This session will feature two workouts where all six athletes have to work together. Elements will include rope climbs, handstand walks, double-unders and a 6-person worm.

Session 2 (6:00pm – 7:30pm local time)

(1:00pm – 2:30pm EST)

Each team will split into two “sub teams” and feature workouts that test their engines and gymnastics skills. It is unclear if the sub teams will be same sex or split 2/1.


Session 1 (11:00am – 1:00pm local time)

(6:00am – 8:00am EST)

Sunday’s first session brings out the weights. Athletes will face some cleans and snatches, beginning with some volume and ending with who can go heavy. The exact format has not yet been disclosed.

Session 2 (4:00pm – 6:00pm local time)

(11:00am – 1:00pm EST)

And to wrap up the Pro Athlete Showcase, the athletes will be tested on their “synchro” skills and the 6-person worm returns.


The biggest question remains, however. Will there be a livestream? It’s a question many have been asking. We reached out to FitFest and a response was not immediately returned. Stay tuned…
