The World Fitness Project Challenger Qualifier I wrapped up last night. Scores for all of the workouts were due on Monday at 8pm Central Time. In total, 214 men and 102 women submitted at least one score.
While the leaderboard is still unofficial, pending video review, Nate Ackerman and Andrea Solberg stand atop the qualifier standings. However, what’s more important is finishing inside the top 10.
The top 10 men and women will be invited to compete alongside the signed Pro athletes at Tour Event 1 in Westfield, Indiana, this May. Those finishing 11-30th will be invited to compete in the Challenger Division in an effort to earn points towards the season.
The men’s top 10 is currently dominated by athletes from the United States and Spain. Six athletes reside in the U.S. along with three from Spain. Colin Bosshard is the only athlete inside the top 10 who is not from those countries (he’s from Switzerland).
The top 10 women features a mix of CrossFit Games veterans and several who have been close to qualifying in the past. Fee Saghafi, Lexi Neely, Linda Keesman and Jamie Simmonds are Games veterans who are inside the top 10.
As for those in the top 30, Chris Ibarra, Jorge Fernandez, Jack Farlow, Jack Rozema, Kyra Milligan, Shelby Neal and Abigail Domit are the most recognizable names who will likely be invited to compete as a Challenger.
Of course, video review could shift the leaderboard. It is unclear how many workouts will be reviewed, but there is a chance we could see some movement over the coming days.
You can view the entire leaderboard on Competition Corner here.
Tour Event 1 is May 9-11 at Grand Park Sports Complex in Westfield, Indiana. All 30 athletes who compete in the Pro Division will receive prize money and points towards the WFP season. The athletes in the Challenger division will not receive prize money, but will earn points.
The top 30 athletes after the two Tour Events will be invited to compete at the World Fitness Finals in Copenhagen this December.
