While most people are doing the CrossFit Open to test themselves and do the workouts alongside the members at their CrossFit affiliate, the top athletes in the world have more at stake than just advancing to Quarterfinals. Yes, the top 5 men and top 5 women in the world at the end of the Open will receive a cash prize.
In Section 1.31 of the 2024 CrossFit Games rulebook, the cash prizes are outlined for the Open.
The top score by an individual male and female each week will receive a $2,024 cash prize. This is why CrossFit requests a video to review from the top athlete before announcing the winner each week.
Then, at the conclusion of the Open, cash prizes will be awarded to the top 5 men and top 5 women on the worldwide leaderboard. Here is the payout:
Cash Prize for CrossFit Open Performance
- 1st place: $15,000
- 2nd place: $10,000
- 3rd place: $7,500
- 4th place: $6,000
- 5th place: $5,000
