Copa Sur Set for April 18-20 in Rio de Janeiro

Copa Sur was the last In-Person Qualifying Event to solidify its plans for the 2025 CrossFit Games season. While dates and locations had been announced for the other Qualifying Events, details on Copa Sur were limited.

Over the weekend, while everyone was focused on Miami Beach and TYR Wodapalooza, Copa Sur announced the dates and location of its 2025 competition.

The 2025 Copa Sur will be April 18-20 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Copa Sur, like several other Qualifying Events, is limiting participation based on geography. Only athletes with South American citizenship will be able to qualify and compete for their ticket to the CrossFit Games.

The qualification process to compete at Copa Sur will be through the CrossFit Open. The top 30 men and 30 women with a South American passport in the Open will be invited to compete at Copa Sur.

The top 2 men and top 2 women in the elite individual division will earn an invite to compete at the 2025 CrossFit Games in Albany, New York, this August.

Copa Sur typically also hosts community divisions. It has not been confirmed, but it will likely have any citizenship requirements.

With the dates finalized for Copa Sur, there are now three IPQE’s in April. The Mayhem Classic is April 5-6. Copa Sur is April 18-20 and Wodland Fest is April 25-27.
