Mayhem Classic Sends First Round of Invites for Qualifying Event

The Mayhem Classic is back, this time as an In-Person Qualifying Event. Up until last week we had very limited information on the competition other than it would be invite-only and based on a ranking system. Over the weekend, the first round of invites were sent to athletes.

While it was said the ranking system would be similar to the Rogue Points System, it ended up being the exact rankings used.

The Mayhem Classic published the list of its first-round invites on Instagram and included the top 18 men and women from Rogue’s rankings.

Hold up…I thought the Mayhem Classic was going to feature 20 men and 20 women?

That is what has been communicated thus far and most likely means that Mayhem is inviting two wildcards for each division. Obviously, one is for Hunter McIntyre as discussed on the last Rich Froning Podcast. Everyone would also expect the other male invite would go to Mayhem’s Austin Hatfield.

All speculation, of course, but that would make sense.

On the women’s side, there aren’t as many obvious choices so we will just have to wait and see.

And then it will also depend on who accepts their invites and whether Mayhem will need to backfill any spots where athletes declined to compete.

With that, here are the 18 men and women who received an invite:

Men Women
Jeff Adler Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr
Pat Vellner Laura Horvath
Justin Medeiros Gabi Migala
Roman Khrennikov Danielle Brandon
Ricky Garard Arielle Loewen
Dallin Pepper Emma Lawson
Jayson Hopper Alex Gazan
Jay Crouch Annie Thorisdottir
BKG Brooke Wells
Noah Ohlsen Alexis Raptis
Chandler Smith Emily Rolfe
Sam Kwant Emma Tall
Jonne Koski Amanda Barnhart
Saxon Panchik Paige Semenza
Travis Mayer Emma McQuaid
Gui Malheiros Haley Adams
James Sprague Manon Angonese
Sam Cournoyer Dani Speegle

As you can see of those invited, Gabi Migala will decline as she is still recovering from her Achilles injury that she suffering at the Rogue Invitational. Emma Tall has also said she will not be competing in the Games season.

On the men’s side, Chandler Smith and Noah Ohlsen have both said they will not be competing this year (technically Ohlsen said he is leaving the door open for teams, but it is unlikely he would go that route).

So there will no doubt be a handful of athletes who will decline, leaving Mayhem to backfill. Athletes have until Wednesday, January 22, to accept or decline their invite. Stay tuned…

The 2025 Mayhem Classic is April 5-6 at CrossFit Mayhem in Cookeville, Tennesse.
