The 24.3 CrossFit Open live announcement was set to be a huge day for Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and the PRVN team. For Tia it was the return to the spotlight after taking a year off to have a baby. For PRVN, it was to showcase their new headquarters, CrossFit PRVN.
But while the Open announcement will still be held at CrossFit PRVN, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr will not participate in the Open workout following the workout reveal.
The news comes just three weeks after it was revealed that Tia had de Quervain’s tenosynovitis. Toomey-Orr said it should not be an issue going forward, but did say that she unable to do push-ups just a few weeks ago.
After the first two weeks of the Open, Toomey-Orr is in 12th place worldwide.
Tia did reveal that CrossFit has plans to replace her for the live announcement and that would be shared soon. The 24.3 Open announcement live show begins at 2:30pm EDT (11:30am PDT) with the workout reveal 30 minutes later.
