If you watched the East Regional this past year, you likely remember the battle between Michael Palomba and Austin Spencer for the 5th and final qualifying spot to the CrossFit Games. Spencer edged out Palomba on the final event, but ended up falling short by just five points.
With eyes set for the 2018 season, Spencer will have another obstacle in front of him. Last weekend Spencer fractured his wrist while riding a bicycle.
Spencerwas in a hard cast for a little over a week. Today he was placed in a wrist brace so he can move his thumb.
We spoke to Spencer to find out how this might impact his 2018 CrossFit Games season. According to Spencer, he should get out of the cast by December and will have a month to work on regaining his range of motion and strength in his wrist.
He believes he will be ready to go by the Open, but competing at Wodapalooza is the bigger question right now.
