This past weekend The Broken Science Initiative announced the launch of MetFix, an evolution of Greg Glassman’s methodology. According to the MetFix page on the Broken Science Initiative website, MetFit is “taking what we built with CrossFit and we’re sharpening it into a tool that can cut through the epidemic of chronic disease that’s killing millions and bankrupting nations.”
MetFix is designed to professionalize the personal trainer, Greg’s original mission when he founded CrossFit. In doing so, these professional trainers will be equipped to improve the health of their communities through “nutrition education coupled with world-class exercise instruction.”
In a blog post by Emily Kaplan, she explains that MetFix will be going to war against the “sugar, the processed food, the seed oils, the sedentary lifestyle, and the chronic diseases that have been killing us slowly.” To do this, MetFix is creating an invite-only affiliate program of individuals who are gym owners and personal trainers who want to improve the health of those in their communities.
There is a form available on the MetFix webpage for those who would like to be considered for an invitation to affiliate.
Outside of the mission of MetFix, few other details on how MetFix intends to extend invitations or the cost to become an affiliate. Additionally, it is unclear if the intent of MetFix is to become a replacement to affiliating as a CrossFit gym or if it is to be complimentary to it.
MetFix is technically just a few days old so more details will undoubtedly be coming soon. Until then, be sure to follow @metfixbybsi to get updates as they are shared.
