CrossFit published its updated CrossFit Games Worldwide Rankings late Friday afternoon. The rankings, which were implemented a year ago for the 2023 CrossFit Games season, are used in the calculation to determine the number of qualifying spots to the CrossFit Games from each Semifinal.
The worldwide rankings are based on a rolling two-year lookback and include results from the CrossFit Open, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and the CrossFit Games. The newest rankings run from the 2022 Semifinals through the 2024 Quarterfinals. Athletes who registered for the individual 2024 Quarterfinals are included in the worldwide rankings.
In the first year of implementation, the top 100 athletes in the world were part of the D’Hondt Method calculation to determine how many qualifying spots to the Games each Semifinal received. This year, however, CrossFit changed who is included in the calculation.

On The Spin last week, Adrian Bozman shared that only athletes who accepted their invite to compete at an individual Semifinal would be included in the calculation for qualifying spots. This meant athletes like Matilde Garnes, ranked 17th, would be excluded from the calculation because she is competing on a team this year.
The calculation change resulted in several of the smaller regions earning one of the 17 unallocated spots, something that did not occur in 2023. On the women’s side, Asia, South America and Oceania each received an additional qualifying spot to this year’s Games. South America and Oceania each received an extra spot on the men’s side.
As of the rankings themselves, Laura Horvath and Jeff Adler stand atop the rankings following their victories at the 2023 CrossFit Games. Justin Medeiros, the former two-time Games champion, is in 2nd place behind Adler. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr jumped back into the rankings after taking a season off to have a baby last year and is in 7th place.
